Many of the great composers have graced the world with wonderful compositions combining the rich sounds of a beautiful choir accompanied by a symphony orchestra. The National Choral Symphony Festival brings this incredible music to the stage by providing America’s top high school choirs and orchestras an opportunity to create a truly unique musical experience.
In the shadow of Pikes Peak, in one of the most beautiful cities in America, Colorado Springs, high school choirs and orchestras will come together for the inaugural National Choral Symphony Festival. The student musicians will have the opportunity to perform their festival set at the beautiful and the state-of-the-art Pike's Peak Center. The event will conclude with the highly acclaimed Colorado Springs Philharmonic providing an evening concert. Select musicians and choral students from each of the participating schools will join the Philharmonic in a special choral symphony piece performed as part of the finale concert. This will undoubtedly be a highlight of the festival experience!
In addition, 2020 marks the 125th Anniversary of the penning of "America the Beautiful." Following a visit to the top of Pike's Peak, having seen the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the plains below, Katherine Lee Bates returned to her room at The Antlers Hotel and wrote the words to this beloved patriotic hymn.
